Joanne Foody, MD, FACC received her undergraduate degree at Princeton University and medical degree at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed internal medicine training at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard University and her Cardiology Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Foody is currently an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine (Cardiology) at Yale University School of Medicine where she is Director of Cardiovascular Education. Dr. Foody’s research has focused on identifying clinical strategies that will reduce cardiovascular events in patients with and without coronary artery disease and discovering opportunities for improving the use of these strategies. She is Clinical Coordinator of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services National Heart Care Project. She is the author of multiple peer-reviewed articles, section editor of the Journal of Critical Pathways in Cardiology and the editor of the book, Preventive Cardiology: Strategies for the Prevention and Treatment of CAD.

Dr. Foody is a member of many professional societies including: American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, and the American Society of Geriatric Cardiologists. She is also a member of the VA Blue Ribbon Panel to improve cardiovascular care; a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology; and Chief Resident, West Roxbury VA Medical Center.
